海角社区 Theatre Announces its 2025-2026 Season

BATON ROUGE, LA 鈥 March 28, 2025 鈥 The 海角社区 School of Theatre today announced its 2025-26 season, featuring nine compelling plays and two special events focused on dance, physical theatre and film.
Highlights of the season include Maggie Smith's intriguing period drama "The Courtship of Winifred Edwards," and the heartwarming holiday favorite, that is written as a sequel to Jane Austin鈥檚 Pride and Prejudice, "Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley" by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. This promises to be an unforgettable year of theatre.
The 海角社区 Theatre's schedule includes three seasons and two special events. The Mainstage Season showcases undergraduate actors in two major productions. Swine Palace, the professional theatre associated with 海角社区 Theatre, features graduate students, faculty, and professional guest artists. The Lab Season presents smaller, student-directed shows.

海角社区 Theatre Mainstage Season:
The Courtship of Winifred Edwards by Maggie Smith, October 2 鈥 12, Shaver Theatre. Set in 1890s America, this play tells the story of two families becoming one after a misplaced handkerchief at a dinner party.

Swine Palace Season:
Miss Bennet Christmas at Pemberly by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, November 6 鈥 16, Reilly Theatre. A sequel to Jane Austen鈥檚 Pride and Prejudice, this play focuses on the bookish middle sister Mary as she hopes for independence and love when the family gathers for Christmas.
The Totality of All Things by Erik Gernand, January 29 鈥 February 8, Shaver Theatre. This play explores the challenges faced by a high school newspaper advisor when an anti-gay hate crime occurs.

Hand to God by Robert Askins, directed by Ethan Hood, February 24 鈥 March 1, Studio Theatre
Two Sisters and a Piano by Nilo Cruz, directed by Blair Bernard, March 24 鈥 29, Studio Theatre
