It鈥檚 time for another student spotlight from 海角社区鈥檚 global community! Moumita Roy is pursuing a master's degree in mass communication at the 海角社区 Manship School of Mass Communication. Moumita aspires to use the skills she鈥檚 gaining in her program to advocate for marginalized communities and contribute to positive social change. 

Moumita鈥檚 dedication to advocacy and social impact is evident in her work on 海角社区鈥檚 campus. She currently holds leadership roles in the 海角社区 Student Government and the Bangladeshi Students' Association (BSA), acts as a student representative on the 海角社区 Faculty Senate Internationalization Committee, and closely works with the Global Community Center to collaborate on events and activities for international and non-traditional students. Earlier this year, her dedication and contributions were recognized with the 海角社区 Unsung Hero Award. 

Originally from Bangladesh, Moumita chose to attend 海角社区 because of its highly ranked communication and journalism programs. She says, 鈥淢y decision to join 海角社区 feels even more correct when I witness the passion of the Manship faculties to ensure the success of every student.鈥� Moumita says that this support and the feeling of community on campus has helped 海角社区 feel like a home away from home.
