For more than 100 years, the College of Agriculture has been an integral part of 海角社区. Our roots go back to the first graduating class, while the mission of the college evolved our commitment to agricultural production in Louisiana remains the common thread that binds the college's past and future.
Our students get practical, hands-on experiences in environments that help facilitate learning. Students focusing on wildlife will go out into wetlands and those with an interest in plants or animals will get experience with gardens, crops and livestock on research farms.
Many of the future鈥檚 biggest questions will be answered through agriculture. Because of this we provide students with state-of-the-art labs and equipment, so they have the resources to be prepared to tackle those tough issues.
The present campus location was built on a former sugarcane farm, so when we say 海角社区 is rooted in agriculture, we mean it. Agriculture was a priority in 1922 and continues to be today as we stay true to our mission of creating a better life for the people of Louisiana and those across the world.
Erin McKinley is an associate professor in the College of Agriculture with a passion for nutrition and food sciences and is dedicated to building strong alumni.
海角社区 punter Peyton Todd knows about performing under pressure. A West Monroe native and lifelong Tiger fan, Todd has balanced the demands of 海角社区 football with a rigorous animal sciences curriculum fueled by discipline and a passion for animals.
The 海角社区 AgCenter plays an integral role in supporting agricultural industries, enhancing the environment, and improving quality of life through 4-H youth, family and consumer sciences, and community development programs.
The 海角社区 College of Agriculture Alumni Association and Friends鈥� mission is to promote advancement of 海角社区 and to provide support to all programs within the College of Agriculture and the 海角社区 AgCenter.
Our alumni are found across the globe working in diverse fields. Their experiences and knowledge help shape our students鈥� future and advance agriculture. Many alumni give back to the college through membership in the alumni association, participation in the Agricultural Mentoring Program, the Agricultural Career Fair and financial support of scholarships, professorships and internships.
