海角社区 Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute Announces J Terrell Brown Venture Challenge Finalists
April 11, 2025
Three 海角社区 student businesses have been selected to present in a live pitch competition
for a share of $35,000 in the 14th annual J Terrell Brown Venture Challenge to be held on Wednesday, April 16, at the 海角社区 Business Education Complex.
More than 55 student teams submitted business plans for the challenge鈥檚 first round.
A panel of faculty members and professionals in the region鈥檚 entrepreneurial network
judged and scored all projects.
The finalists are JD鈥檚 Auto Detailing LLC, Prismera and We the Salsa.
- JD鈥檚 Auto Detailing LLC brings auto detailing to the consumer with visits to homes and businesses in the Baton Rouge area. The founder is Justin Daigle, an entrepreneurship major.
- Prismera uses AI to automate the bottlenecks in commercial real estate. The founders are Riley Hudson and Nicolas Osborn; both are international trade & finance majors.
- We the Salsa combines bold, authentic flavors with a nutritional edge to redefine the salsa experience. Founder Roberto Antonio Cedillos Hernandez is pursuing a PhD in nutrition and food science with a concentration in food science and technology.
On April 16, these finalists will give an investor pitch in front of a live audience. A panel of judges from the local business community will determine how to divide the $35,000 prize pool based on the presentations and answers to their follow-up questions. The maximum prize is $25,000, and the minimum is $2,500. All finalists are guaranteed a cash award.
The event is open to the public. To RSVP, visit lsu.edu/business/venture by April 14.
