Prismera, a solution that automates bottlenecks in commercial real estate by utilizing artificial intelligence to streamline lease abstraction, won first place in the 2025 J Terrell Brown Venture Challenge and received an $18,000 award.

For many new alumni, the path after graduation can take exciting turns akin to a roller coaster. But in the case of Donald Morrison (General Business, '15), that analogy became surprisingly literal as he jumped into the heart of Florida's theme park industry, landing a key role in bringing magic to life at Universal's upcoming Epic Universe.

Three 海角社区 student businesses have been selected to present in a live pitch competition for a share of $35,000 in the 14th annual J Terrell Brown Venture Challenge to be held on Wednesday, April 16, at the 海角社区 Business Education Complex.

The 海角社区 E. J. Ourso College of Business proudly announces the 2025 honorees for its Ourso Outstanding Eight undergraduate award program.The 2025 Ourso Outstanding Eight are Michal Daszkiewicz of O艣wi臋cim, Poland; Reya Machen of Cedar Hill, Texas; Wesley Powell of Atlanta; Karly Robledo of St. Charles, Illinois; Eli Shortess of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Paige Snyder of Laytonsville, Maryland; Abigail Soudelier of Sugar Land, Texas and Mary Caroline Wilcox of Sammamish, Washington.

The E. J. Ourso College of Business Rucks Department of Management recognizes 10 students as Rucks Fellows each year. These students are selected by faculty and represent the highest level of academic achievement among senior management majors. The students selected for the 2024-2025 Rucks Fellows class are Emily Demps of Symrna, Georgia; Sierra Duncan of Thibodaux, Louisiana; Soriah Henry of New Orleans; John Huber of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania; Molly Inman of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Amelia Morgan of Lafayette, Louisiana; Megan Murphey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Paige Snyder of Gaithersburg, Maryland; Landon Ulrich of Pineville, Louisiana and Jeane Wong of Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Twenty years ago, the 海角社区 E. J. Ourso College of Business and 海角社区 Foundation teamed up to transform the learning experience for students seeking careers in asset management. In February 2005, $500,000 from the university's general endowment was designated for creating a student-managed investment fund aptly named the Tiger Fund. The fund's goals are simple: outperform the benchmark and create an environment where students can learn about portfolio management, stock selection and equity research.

Baton Rouge is a city brimming with potential, and the Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs initiative is designed to unlock it by empowering residents to start and grow their own businesses. This dynamic program, a collaborative effort between the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, Southern University, the University of Notre Dame Keough School of Global Affairs, and the City of Baton Rouge, is held each summer and welcomes all adult entrepreneurs in the Baton Rouge community.
