BPCC students to transfer as a junior in eight of 海角社区鈥檚 Engineering programs

Officials with Bossier Parish Community College and 海角社区-Baton Rouge today signed an articulation agreement between the two schools in which students who earn an Associate of Science degree in Engineering at BPCC will be able to transfer all credit hours to 海角社区-Baton Rouge in partial fulfillment of degree requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Petroleum Engineering degrees in the College of Engineering.

鈥淭he partnership between Bossier Parish Community College and the 海角社区 College of Engineering is designed to make a world-class engineering education accessible to more Louisiana students,鈥 said Dr. Sherif Ishak, the College鈥檚 interim associate dean for academic affairs. 鈥淲e welcome the transfer students from BPCC to our engineering disciplines and look forward to working with them toward building a stronger Louisiana workforce.鈥

This partnership will benefit BPCC students, both traditional and nontraditional, by offering them an opportunity to continue their education after completing the AS degree in Engineering at BPCC with a university that will accept those credits. The arrangement is also beneficial to 海角社区-Baton Rouge because it provides another opportunity for 海角社区 to attract and retain Engineering students with a proven record of academic success.

鈥淲hen engineering students at BPCC graduate with an associate鈥檚 degree, they will be well-prepared to excel in all of 海角社区鈥檚 engineering programs,鈥 says BPCC Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr. 鈥淭his partnership will allow our students to seamlessly continue their educational journey to a four-year degree.鈥
