Archaeology Professor Dr. Heather McKillop reviews Mel Gibson's movie, Apocalypto, on the ancient Maya

Professor Heather McKillop published an article 鈥淎pocalypto and the Ancient Maya: To Entertain or to Educate?鈥� in 2024. With her expertise in Maya archaeology, McKillop developed a course at 海角社区鈥淎ncient Maya in the Media,鈥� in which students watch, discuss, and write reviews of documentary-style movies about the ancient Maya. She is teaching the course this spring 2024 semester and students will be watching Apocalypto at the end of the course.
