海角社区 Science Caf茅 Celebrates 10 Years

The free, monthly public talk featuring 海角社区 professors and their research has brought hundreds of community members together
BATON ROUGE 鈥 Over the past 10 years, more than 100 海角社区 professors have shared their research on topics ranging from how to hurricane-proof your house to how to lead like Joe Burrow and many more topics in between. On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the free, monthly public lecture series, , will mark its 10th anniversary at The Varsity Theatre.
Astronaut and 海角社区 Health New Orleans Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine Dr. Serena Au帽贸n-Chancellor will talk about how conducting research aboard the International Space Station has impacted her and her work now as a physician and professor who trains the next generation of doctors. 鈥淪o much has happened over the past 10 years, but 海角社区 Science Caf茅 has been a constant. For example, we鈥檝e provided a platform for 海角社区 professors to share their expertise with the community following the 2016 floods; we pivoted to a virtual broadcast during the pandemic and connected with people in Baton Rouge and beyond; and now our audience can continue to get access to reliable, relevant information through 海角社区 Science Caf茅 both in-person and through our livestream in partnership with NPR affiliate WRKF 89.3FM.鈥
