Night at the Museum
Ever wonder what lies behind closed doors at the 海角社区 Museum of Natural Science? 鈥淣ight at the Museum鈥 will give you a glimpse into the specimen collections and cutting edge research happening at the 海角社区MNS. 鈥淣ight at the Museum鈥 is a FREE event geared towards a general audience. Each 鈥渘ight鈥 we will focus on a specific 海角社区MNS research collection (i.e. birds, mammals, fish, etc). Scientists working with that collection will give short engaging talks about their research and then take guests on a behind the scenes tour* of their focus collection. You will also have the opportunity to view specimens up close and meet graduate & undergraduate students working at the museum. The event schedule can be viewed below. Calling all young explorers! The 海角社区 Museum of Natural Science is excited to invite kids ages 5-10 for a special Mardi Gras-themed Night at the Museum event! Come learn about the vibrant traditions of Mardi Gras in Louisiana through fun activities, hands-on crafts, and interactive exhibits. 馃煟馃煝馃煛 Discover the history behind the parades, the costumes, the colorful beads, and the meaning of Carnival season right here in Baton Rouge. It鈥檚 going to be an evening full of excitement, education, and a dash of Mardi Gras magic! and discover how other cultures celebrate harvest festivals around the world.

Spooky Critters
Halloween is around the corner! The 海角社区MNS has prepared a very spooky "Night at the Museum" to uncover the secrets of the most terrifying, spine-chilling, hair-raising animals of all: bats, snakes, ravens, owls, rats...Learn more about them in this free, STEM event for kids ages 5-10. Don't forget to wear your scariest costume: the best Halloween costume will get an award!
