Research Safety
海角社区 is committed to maintaining a culture of safety through the university, in all colleges and departments, and across all disciplines. In 2017, the issued a report on the need for creating and sustaining such a culture in higher education. The 海角社区 Research Safety Committee has reviewed the report's recommendations and issued a response that highlights 海角社区's strengths as well as areas for improvement.

Proper disposal of hazardous materials is required whenever a responsible individual leaves 海角社区 or transfers to a different laboratory. (鈥淩esponsible individual鈥 can include, but is not limited to: faculty, staff, post-doctoral, and graduate students.) Plan the disposal of hazardous materials carefully. Hazardous materials such as chemicals, microorganisms, tissues, and sources of radiation can injure faculty, students, staff, contractors and visitors if handled inappropriately.
