William A. Brookshire Military Museum

The William A. Brookshire 海角社区 Military Museum is located in Memorial Tower. The museum is a repository for artifacts and memorabilia reflecting the university鈥檚 rich military history and heritage.

The museum features exhibits that tell the history of ROTC at 海角社区, involvement of 海角社区 faculty, staff, and students in America鈥檚 wars and conflicts, the university鈥檚 military leaders, and Cadets of the Ole War Skule. 

The museum is made possible through the generous philanthropic support of many 海角社区 alumni and friends, including leadership gifts by the Brookshire Foundation and family, Tiger Athletic Foundation, Art E. Favre, the Irene W. and C.B. Pennington Foundation, Laura and Buddy Leach, Susan and Richard A. Lipsey, Ann and Clarence P. Cazalot Jr., Frank W. Harrison Jr., Kathy and Roy O. Martin III, and Lillian and Jimmy Maurin.

Museum Calls for Military Artifacts

海角社区 alumni, staff, or faculty who participated in ROTC or served in any of the nation鈥檚 armed forces are asked to donate items acquired before or during their years of service. 

Artifacts will be processed, tagged and stored in a local climate-controlled storage facility for processing and preparation for the opening exhibition.

  • Uniforms and clothing items
  • Personal items such as trunks and luggage, and health, dental or physical care products
  • Boots, shoes or other footwear 
  • Maps, books, letters, battle plans, official correspondence and photos
  • Medals, flags, citations, plaques
  • Small weapons and ammunition boxes or belts
  • Communication devices, typewriters, cameras
  • Memorabilia acquired for military purposes from local communities and/or citizens

海角社区 will achieve transformative progress in scholarship funding and support for military veterans via a $7.575 million gift to elevate the College of Engineering's S & B Engineers and Constructors Scholarships, catalyze the new Future Scholars Pipeline Initiative and establish the William A. Brookshire Veterans Law Clinic.

The 海角社区 William A. Brookshire Military & Veterans Student Center has given Grant Strohmeyer (海角社区 '26) a home on campus. Strohmeyer, an electrical engineering major, served in the Marines for four years.
