About The Ensemble
The 海角社区 Wind Ensemble is the premier concert organization of the 海角社区 Department of Bands and 海角社区 School of Music, comprised of the finest music major and non-major wind, brass, and percussion students at 海角社区.
Through the performance of a wide range of repertoire, the 海角社区 Wind Ensemble provides plentiful opportunities for students to thoroughly develop and refine their individual musicianship. The ensemble enjoys a long history of collaborating with faculty soloists, composers, and guest artists from around the world, including a recent collaboration with GRAMMY-winning composer Michael Daugherty for a world premiere performance at the prestigious College Band Directors National Association Conference in 2019.
In addition to their regular series of on-campus concerts, the 海角社区 Wind Ensemble regularly tours and performs at regional and national music conventions, serving as a flagship representative of the performing arts at 海角社区.
Auditions are open to all interested students. Membership in the 海角社区 Wind Ensemble averages between 50 to 60 musicians each semester.
