American Sign Language

海角社区 World Languages is proud to introduce American Sign Language (ASL) to the 海角社区 Baton Rouge campus. ASL is considered a foreign language and improves the quality of family communications for hearing people with deaf or hard of hearing family members. ASL is said to be  the fourth most commonly used language in the United States.

We currently offer ASLG 1001, Beginning American Sign Language. Introduction to the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). This course is designed to develop basic ASL communication skills and knowledge of the Deaf culture. (4 credits).
