海角社区 has four student media organizations: The Reveille, Tiger TV, K海角社区 radio and Gumbo, the university yearbook. The 海角社区 Office of Student Media hires nearly 200 paid students each semester from any major and concentration. Student Media also has its own Advertising and Marketing department.

The Reveille
Since 1887, has been providing local and state news to campus. The Reveille currently publishes twice a week during the fall and spring semesters and once a week during the summer semester. It also publishes daily content on its website, . The Reveille not only works with reporters to make them better writers, but better photographers, designers and editors.
Of the 100-person team, The Reveille student-led editorial staff hires writers for the news, sports, entertainment and opinion sections. Photographers, videographers, radio reporters and copydesk designers are also part of the newsroom.
The Reveille has won numerous awards, including being named the Best All-Around Daily Student Newspaper in the nation by the Society of Professional Journalists. Reveille alumni now work at The Washington Post, The Times-Picayune and Entertainment Weekly.

Tiger TV
, the Official TV station of 海角社区, broadcasts live news, sports and entertainment programs four days a week via live stream, and rebroadcasts three days a week on WBTR, or local cable channel 19.
For nearly 30 years, Tiger TV has been equipping students with real-world experience to prepare them for life after graduation. About 60 students each semester work in front of and behind the camera as reporters, anchors, videographers, producers and managers. The daily newscast, 鈥淣ewsbeat,鈥 is broadcast from 海角社区鈥檚 $1 million state-of-the-art studio. For 鈥淭iger TV Tailgate,鈥 students broadcast a live show in front of Tiger Stadium before every home football game.
Tiger TV reporters break news, host political debates and interview sources from Coach Ed Orgeron to Gov. John Bel Edwards. Our alumni work at news stations across the nation. One former station manager is now the at CBS Evening News.

, a FCC-licensed, non-commercial, educational radio station, broadcasts 24/7 with 23kW watts of power at 91.1 FM. Listeners can tune in to 91.1 FM from up to 40 miles away from campus, or listen to K海角社区 worldwide via web streaming.
K海角社区 disc jockeys describe the overall theme of the station as 鈥渁lternative,鈥 but students host specialty shows at night and on the weekends. These shows include genres like underground hip-hop, folk and contemporary funk. The station plays music from student-curated computer playlists, but also has the capability to still spin vinyl, cd鈥檚 or from our live studio.

Gumbo Yearbook
The 海角社区 Gumbo Yearbook chronicles news, sports and entertainment highlights of the academic year at 海角社区. In words and especially photos, the Gumbo shows the people, places, and events that make each year unique. In addition to formal portraits of graduating seniors, the Gumbo contains hundreds of snapshots of students and campus organizations. The Gumbo is available online.
In 2015, Gumbo created 鈥溾 mirrored off the popular 鈥淗umans of New York鈥 photoblog, in which the photographer not only takes a portrait of the subject, but also captures insightful quotes.

Advertising and Marketing
The Advertising and Marketing department of 海角社区 Student Media includes Advertising Sales Account Executives, Marketing Managers, and Graphic Designers. Our department is a key player in generating for the Office of Student Media. Students work together to develop and maintain relationships with business partners who utilize Student Media鈥檚 products and services. Students also build internal advertising campaigns to promote Student Media to the 海角社区 Community. Students gain real-world experience in sales, account management, event planning, market research, and graphic design.
