Biography
Christian Fern谩ndez, has a B.A. in Literature from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru, a M.A. in Political Sciences from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from Johns Hopkins University, USA. Presently, he is a Professor of Latin American Literature and Cultures at 海角社区, Baton Rouge. He has taught at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Brown University, and The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Professor Fern谩ndez has taught and lectured at numerous universities and institutions in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the United States. He is the author of Inca Garcilaso: imaginaci贸n, memoria e identidad (2004), and Imaginar la naci贸n: G眉iraldes, Gallegos, Lugones y Borges (2020). He has edited Mis primeros ensayos (2012) by Margarita Pr谩xedes Mu帽oz, co-edited Inca Garcilaso & Contemporary World-Making (2016) with Sara Castro-Klar茅n, co-edited Approaches to Teaching the works of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega (2022) with Jos茅 Antonio Mazzotti, and edited Clorinda Matto de turner鈥檚 Tradiciones cuzque帽as (2023). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Revista de Cr铆tica Literaria Latinoamericana and a co-founder/member of the Executive Committee of the Asociaci贸n Internacional de Peruanistas in the United States.

Colonial Latin American studies, Indigeneity, Latin American narratives, Cultural theory, post-Colonial studies, transatlantic and comparative studies.
